TWIGS BISTRO AND TWIGS BISTRO BAR TO OPEN IN
RIVER PARK SQUARE

Spokane, Wash. — River Park Square has announced it has signed a lease with Twigs Bistro and Twigs Bistro Bar to occupy space in the Atrium Cafés on 3.  Slated to open its doors in mid-June 2001, Twigs creates a new dining concept by combining takeout dining with formal seating in the bistro and bar areas.

“We hope to provide a creative blend of casual ambiance and healthy sophistication for the destination shopper at River Park Square,” says Jeff Blackwell, owner and developer.  “The Twigs menu will include a number of healthful and fresh entrees and salads intended to appeal to the consumer looking for an alternative to the usual food court fare.”

The design of the Atrium Cafés draws on the significant and varied natural environment found in the Inland Northwest.  It also reflects many of the features found in downtown Spokane, including Riverfront Park.

“Twigs ideally suits the vision of the Atrium Cafés on 3,” said Ron Horton, manager of the Atrium Cafes on 3.  “The restaurant integrates well into the feeling that customers are ‘Dining in the Park.’”

Twigs Bistro and Twigs Bistro Bar are part of the Qol Restaurant Group, Inc.

The River Park Square food collection, Atrium Cafés on 3, is a two-level, 29,000-square- foot specialty food venue, providing patrons with a unique dining experience.  It incorporates one-of-a-kind food offerings, a special children’s seating area, meeting rooms, custom art features, and a spectacular view of downtown Spokane and the center’s atrium.  Twigs Bistro and Bistro Bar are the second and third unique, fun spaces to open in the Atrium Café.  The first, Panda Express, kicked off the opening in April 2001.

River Park Square and surrounding downtown businesses serve a regional market of more than 1.7 million people.  The new retail center has generated more then $5.4 million in tax and fee revenues for the City of Spokane and city-services, has created and retained more than 1100 jobs, and has served as a catalyst for downtown revitalization.  Since River Park Square opened, more than $340 million in new downtown construction projects have been announced or moved forward.
