ROCK CITY GRILL TO BRING ITALIAN FARE TO RIVER PARK SQUARE 
 

River Park Square management today announced it has finalized a lease with Rock City Grill to become one of the shopping, dining, and entertainment center’s signature restaurants.   

The popular, local restaurant will occupy the 7,000-square-foot space on the north end of the main level, formerly occupied by Chevys Fresh Mex.  It is expected to open in November, following 6-8 weeks of construction to renovate the space. 

The relocation of its award-winning locally-owned restaurant to River Park Square allows Rock City Grill to expand its operations and “move its downtown presence to center stage,” said Jim Rhoades, owner of Rock City Grill.  

According to Rhoades, the River Park Square location will increase its seating capacity by 50 percent to 275, and an additional 35 employees will be hired to maintain its high level of customer service, double its current number.  He added the interior design of the new restaurant will reflect its flavor of seriously fun Italian.

Rock City Grill’s Italian-American dishes, cooked in a wood-fired oven, will fill a dining niche not currently served at River Park Square.  Its cutting edge menu and ingredients, casual restaurant prices, full-service bar, and creative, fun environment have brought the eatery numerous accolades.  Spokane has voted Rock City Grill ‘Best Restaurant in Spokane’ and ‘Best Happy Hour’ in a variety of local polls.

Chevys closed its only Spokane operation on October 4, following four years in business.  The national restaurant franchise is planning to focus its operations on other markets nationwide.
